James 5:10,11

James 5:10,11

My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure.  You have heard of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord - that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
There are a lot of people that we can look to as role models on how to behave and the type of character to aim for in the departments of enduring suffering and having patience.  The Bible is full of examples of what to do and what not to do.

The people in the Bible we should look particularly at are the prophets.  People who taught others about God and who told the people what God wanted them to know.  These people spoke in the name of the Lord.  Sadly, many of these same people went through difficult times.  Some of those times were due to the people's  stubbornness.  And then people like Jonah, where the people happily listened, had the prophet being stubborn.

In the end though, we all agree that those prophets were blessed.  It didn't matter what hardships they faced, the way that God worked through them was always amazing.  You know what God wants for our lives and what He can do with our lives if we let Him.

Yes we mess up.  Yes we keep running back to Him.  And God will always be there with open arms because He loves us.
