1 Peter 1:23

Review: We have been led in our lives by the Holy Spirit because we are willing to listen.  Why?  Because we love Jesus.  With a good and innocent love, love those around you.  Take care of the others in the church and in your lives with a passion.

"having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,"

If you remember back to when we were studying James, we read how we were created by the Word of God as well as saved because the Word of God was in us.  Now we see the Word of God again here.

The reason that we were able to be born again, have a life where God takes care of us and helps us to be better people so that we can someday live with Him, is because of the Word of God.  The Word of God has always been around.  You read this over and over again in the New Testament.  God and Jesus are the Word of God and eternal as nothing else can be.

That is why having your life based on the Word of God is incorruptible.  It never changes and is eternal.  Been and always will be.  It isn't like precious things the wealthy collect on earth, that can be stolen or abused.  God is beyond all that, and He can make what makes an organic body into a living being.
