Titus 3:12, 13

These last few versus are specific instructions.  Looking at them though, we can get the main idea or principle guiding them.  When someone is sent out somewhere for Jesus, they need to be sent quickly with whatever they need for the trip.  So if you feel a calling to go to, say, Canada and preach in a church there then with the help of your church family get started immediately.  Don't wait.  Don't doubt or you might miss that chance.

I remember a story about a pastor who was talking about going to Africa.  He said that he felt impressed to go.  That doors opened to allow him to go.  He was wanting to make certain though that the right SDA offices were informed and had given there approval.  Three weeks or so went by and things were working out for him to go when the door in Africa slammed shut.  He was devastated.  Why did God open so many doors only to slam them shut?

I think the answer is found here easily enough.  He was needed.  He was needed then and there.  Everything was set for him to go.  He procrastinated and pulled the doubting Thomas act or Gideon tirade.  By the time he was done complaining and being hesitant, it was too late and God had to find another.
