Tonight at the Bible Study group, we got into pairs and the person I was talking to prayed for me. Afterwards we were talking and I mentioned the centipedes and bugs that get into my place. She said to pray and command them to leave. I was uncertain about this but when I got back I did just that.
Not to gross anyone out but I also had a backed up toilet. It gets this way from time to time. I decided if praying in Jesus name had the power to rid my place of bugs, it should fix my toilet. So I flushed it and said in a wimpy voice, "In Jesus name be fixed." It didn't. I looked at it and thought, I should have said that with authority knowing it WILL flush clean. In that instant I said it again and looked at it with no doubt it would flush through. No doubt. And guess what, after maybe one second, it flushed through.
I turned back to the room, speechless. Praised God and re commanded the bugs to leave. I won't have any problems with centipedes again. God will make sure of that. He doesn't want me to have bugs in my place. He is a loving Father and only wants good things for me. I believe in Him and know He is more powerful than anything else that exists.
This is a place where I am study God's Word for myself. I am a bit of a historian so also including some research into the culture of the times and people that I come across as I read the Bible will be here too. This is just a way for me to share what I learn with others as well as feel like I am being held accountable for keeping up with my devotions. I am lazy by nature and need that small check and balance.
