"Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God."
This sounds a lot like being willing to put up with not doing things that would make you feel good, like lust or gluttony, in order to stay focused on God's will for us. It is easy to say you can multi task, but the truth is if you are focused on things like playing all the Final Fantasy games or attending the most fashionable parties, then you won't be able to have time for God too.
So to change your life so that you are talking to, spending time with, and listening to God means that you give up a lot of the things that otherwise would have come first and are more open to His guiding. With Him guiding you and being there to catch you when you fall... life because more enjoyable. Less dramatic in a sense and more peaceful to experience inside.
