"But even if you should suffer for righteousness sake, you are blessed. "And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled." ~1 Peter 3:14
Context: You are to be respectful and compassionate with others... no matter if they annoy you or are a politician... because you love God and want to be the better man which is possible with God.
So when bad things happen, despite living life the best you know how, you are still blessed. Suffer and blessings don't usually go together. Suffer is having something bad happen to you. Blessing is having God's protection. So even though something bad happens to you, God hasn't left you because He is still there protecting you.
So you don't have to fear other's threats or worry when bad things happen.
I'm experiencing this in a very real way. I'm overseas in South Korea teaching English. However with North Korea's threats, I should be worried right? I'm not. No one here is except military and political leaders. I have their view on this, but also I know God's protecting me so I have no need to fear anything. It will be okay.
This is a place where I am study God's Word for myself. I am a bit of a historian so also including some research into the culture of the times and people that I come across as I read the Bible will be here too. This is just a way for me to share what I learn with others as well as feel like I am being held accountable for keeping up with my devotions. I am lazy by nature and need that small check and balance.
