There is an anime show called Inuyasha. I can hear your thoughts screaming at me already. Why am I tainting my spiritual blog with such a secular genre. It is because I caught a glimpse of myself and the great controversy that exists around me in an episode. I want to share my thoughts with you.
There is a main character named Inuyasha. He was born from a human mother and demon father. He has always lived with these two influences inside of him struggling to take over him. Either the human or the demon.
In the episode I watched, it ended with a summary. He had two females in his life. The first, Kikyo, is actually a dead person come back to life. Since she is dead, there is only death for her. In order for her to live with Inuyasha for the rest of her existence, he too must die. She is filled with despair and hate. She wants that for him as well.
The second female is the human Kagome. She is alive and well, full of happiness. She wants to live the rest of her life with Inuyasha. She wants to see him happy.
Obviously we all would the human who is good instead of the undead who is bad. Obviously if we could get rid of the demon in us and be just good humans, we would choose that.
So why don't you? We live in a sinned filled world. Our blood is tainted by sin. Our actions are influenced daily by the devil and his angels. We can choose Jesus, who wants only good for us, and know that someday we will live perfectly happy lives with our bodies and souls purified. Yet so many times we get angry at others, lash out in bitterness, and fuel jealousy in our hearts.
Do you see where I am going with this? Your daily actions show who you choose as your master. The small things you do stamp your hand with either God's seal or the devil's. The small things you think stamp your forehead with either God's seal or the devil's. Your choices make up who you are and the character you become.
You are currently a child of God tainted with sin. You can go either way just as Inuyasha could go either way. You can choose either the one who wants you to despair or the One who wants you to be happy. Your choice.
