The opening of the book of Titus is revealing to both more of who God is as well as what Christians are supposed to be.
Verse 1 - "Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgement of the truth which accords with godliness,"
To me this verse is very enlightening. A bondservant is someone who works for another for no wages or reward. Paul says that He does this for God. He gladly has given up his life to God though it gained him nothing. Apostle is an early Christian teacher. Paul not only has given his life to God, but also teaches of Jesus.
To give your life to God and teach about Jesus is an aspect of faith. Faith that God's chosen have. It isn't just faith though. When you belong to Jesus, you must also being accepting of the truth. The truth must be in every way good. Just as godliness is.
