"For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth."
Context: Improving your life on the faith you have been given with the understanding of love of God because you chose to do God's will leading to Him taking over when you are not enough so that you can go to Heaven.
Peter is desperately trying to tell his readers something here. He doesn't care how much you know about God or how solid a relationship you have with God. He doesn't care if you grew up in the church or if everything is currently peachy in your spiritual life. He doesn't care because it isn't where you are at that matters as much as to where you need to stay and how you must continue to grow. The price is too high not to remind you and renew your relationship with God very often.
